American Red Cross
The United State’s largest emergency response organization. Site includes up-to-date information on Hurricane Katrina, a missing person’s registry and a variety of disaster preparation and response materials.

Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Hurricane Information
Federal site with up-to-date health information related to Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts. Includes information on preventing illnesses and infections, food safety, worker response and other topics.

Up-to-date news on Hurricane Katrina and other disasters.

Youth organization is currently collecting back packs and school supplies for youth affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Federal site with up-to-date information on Katrina recovery efforts. FEMA is responsible for responding to national disasters, training first responders and managing the National Flood Insurance Program and the U.S. Fire Administration.

The U.S. Government’s official web portal with extensive listing of Hurricane Katrina resources. Site includes information on finding loved ones, helping survivors and other topics.
